Metal Detecting Questions:

Where can I buy a first class gold detector her in the Philippines.?

I am into treasure hunting here in my area. Can somebody provide me a detector that can detect buried gold bars, diamonds and other precious metals.

There are many good detectors on the market. White’s, Tesoro, and Garrett all have many models from a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars, all have websites, and all will ship right to your door. I would suggest you get an inexpensive model like you would find in Walmart and play with it a while to see if you enjoy the hobby before dropping several hundred to a couple thousand on a top of the line detector. Very few people have become rich metal detecting and most have spent more in equipment than they will ever find in treasure. It’s more about enjoying the hobby.

Gold bars would be easily found at a shallow depth with any metal detector. The difference in the expensive models would be depth of location and discrimination between differing metals.
BTW, diamonds are not metal and will not be found with a metal detector.

Metal Detecting Questions:

How do I clean the coins I find metal detecting?

Some of the coins are pretty awful, I’ve tried everything I can think of to clean the coins, but not good results… Please help.

In grade school we always cleaned coins with lemon juice – but it may be to acidic for old coins. Maybe you should find a coin collector store and ask them.

Good Luck!

Metal Detecting Questions:

Treasure Hunters : Are there any good places to use your metal detector in North or South Carolina?

There are several good treasure hunting sites on the web. Maybe if you searched one of those it would help. I did the same thing for my state and found some good info.

Metal Detecting Questions:

What is the best metal detector, prices and where can i get 1?

I am wanting a metal detector that will read anything from coins to well i dont know huge bars of gold lol, i also want it to be able to read things as deep as possible and tell me where they are! CAN YOU HELP PLEASE
—PS—

“”Fannypacks are awesome”"
You are a loser

The answer depends on ground conditions in your area, the type of sites you intend to hunt and how deep your pockets are.

All of the major manufacturers offer entry level detectors which are relatively low in price to get you started but if you’re looking for deep objects and a detector that gives you information on target type, depth, etc…, it’ll cost you a little more. If you’re very serious about this hobby, in my opinion you’re better off with a higher end machine that you can grow into instead of upgrading down the road.

If you have a local dealer you should either stop in or give them a call with some of your questions and they should be able to help, plus they can probably point you to a spot or two to get your feet wet. If there are none in your area you can always drop in at any of the online forums that are related to the hobby. I’ll leave you a link to one that I know you’ll find answers to a lot of your questions.

I use a Fisher F75 that I just got this past summer and finally moving up to the newer technology has really paid off for me. This detector isn’t cheap but I saved around 400.00 by buying a near new used model on Ebay. I was able to use a friends F75 for a few hunts and I knew it was the right one to buy but again I used it in the field first. I loved it’s light weight, power, information it gave me, low operating cost and ability to change modes and settings on the fly.

There are many good models out there to consider but I do recommend sticking to the main brands like Fisher, Whites, Tesoro, Garrett and Minelab. Teknetics also has some new models out that have gotten some pretty decent reviews.

If you have any more questions stop in the forum or leave me (mikewaz) a pm and I’ll be glad to help you out.

Good luck!
Mike
