Metal Detecting Questions:
Do former Canadian Prime Ministers have any special privileges?
If a former Canadian Prime Minister like Joe Clark, John Turner, Brian Mulroney, Kim Campbell, Jean Chretien or Paul Martin show up at the Parliament for a meeting do they just get to walk right in or do they have to sign the guest book at the desk and/or go through the metal detectors.
Like in the USA, do they get some sort of lifetime Secret Service protection? Like when Paul Martin lost as Prime Minister and just went back to being a regular Member of Parliament, did he get any special privileges while at the Parliament buildings (i.e. security detail, allowed to go through doors that others are not (he is a former PM after all)? Or did he just walk around alone like everybody else?
They get the satisfaction of going home and rolling in all of the money that they’ve embezzled from the Canadian taxpayers. That’s their special privilege after they’re out of office.
